For a number of reasons, this picture has special place in my heart. First of all it is the result of the purest vision I've received to date. I received this vision at a church service. While prostrate on the floor soaking in the presence of the Lord, what you see here began to unfold before me. There was a long period of silence preceding this vision, but at the very moment this picture started to materialize, a member of the church body started singing a song of the Lord.
That song was about Jacob's vision (Jacob's Ladder), and the way to Heaven. It was a glorious moment and one I'll never forget. It also serves to remind me of my daily Christian walk. How although on the correct path, one never the less struggles daily to remain there. There are unseen forces of darkness coming against us, but there is also a Heavenly army working on our behalf. A spiritual battle with man as the prize.
In structure and composition, this picture is one of the more complex in my portfolio. I believe it took six weeks from start to finish. Although the general picture had been laid out for me that night during the church service, there were many times when the Holy Spirit came to my rescue and helped me with the details. His voice and His guiding spirit were constant companions throughout the creation of this picture.
