This picture deals with faith in action. After receiving this vision, the Lord impressed upon me the importance of exercising faith. In this picture the figure is leaping out into darkness, and the light from above, signifying God's Glory, illuminates and upholds the one who trusts in Him. The Glory of God falls only as a result of the subject's action. I also saw another vision with the figure standing still, dimly lit, engulfed in total darkness, expressing that if faith doesn't involve action, God doesn't move on your behalf.
Again, the Lord did a work in me while I was doing this piece. In the vision He gave me, at the base of this picture, I saw a field of thorn bushes. My patience was greatly tested while working on the thorn field. My obedience was also tested when the lord directed me to cover them with the mist from the water fall. As the picture progressed, the thorn field that I had worked so hard on, became dimmer and dimmer. Exasperated, I was confronted with a choice. Would pride in my artistry (of the thorns) become a hindrance to the flow of God? I doubt you see those thorns on your computer screen, you can barely see them on the original. Regardless, those thorns will always serve as a reminder to me that the work I do, serves to Glorify Him, not me.
