In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. --GENESIS 1:1-2
I am not a "landscape" artist so for a long time I questioned whether this was a vision worthy of working on. Also, the lack of any form and structure threw me a curve. However I was repeatedly drawn to those opening passages of scripture, and I realized that there is no such thing as a vision from the Lord not worth putting on paper.
I was initially reluctant to use any bright colors in this work, until the Lord reminded me that He is Light. Where His presence is, there is also light. From that moment on the picture began to take shape. The Lord took me there, a beautiful place, rich with color. Surely where the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters, would not be a dark cold place.
