May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, "My Name shall be there," so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place. - Hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. (1 Kings 8:29-30)
Solomon's prayer is complete in its scope and it reveals the heart of a man who's primary focus is on His God and the relationship of all men with their creator.
Years ago Solomon's prayer took root in my being, only recently though, (November '02) did the Lord give me this vision. There are spiritual aspects connected to this moment, this prayer, that are profound. The dynamics involved here remain to me far more mysterious than revelatory, that's fine by me, I love God's mysteries...
While working on this image, I felt the Lord's pleasure to an extent rarely experienced before. He did speak to me however about accomplishing His purposes, according to His own time table. He may start a work with one vessel, but bring it to fruition through yet another. Solomon's father David had a burning desire to build the temple, but he gave priority to God's desire over his own, and so must we yield to God. Even when we are doing good things for the Kingdom, we still always need to submit to God's every whisper.
